About the Facebook and LinkedIn buttons below:

You might see below the links to “Find us on Facebook” and to “Join our group” on LinkedIn.  You might be wondering what these websites are.  Here are descriptions as found on Wikipedia to help you decide if one or both of these websites might be right for you if you are not already on them.

“LinkedIn is a business-related social networking site. Founded in December 2002 and launched in May 2003, it is mainly used for professional networking. (…) One purpose of the site is to allow registered users to maintain a list of contact details of people with whom they have some level of relationship, called Connections. This list of connections can then be used in a number of ways (including) to find jobs, people and business opportunities recommended by someone in one's contact network. (…) Employers can list jobs and search for potential candidates. “Adapted from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linkedin on 3/29/2012

“Facebook is a social networking service and website launched in February 2004 (…) Users can create profiles with photos, lists of personal interests, contact information, and other personal information. Users can communicate with friends and other users through private or public messages and a chat feature (…) Facebook allows users to continuously stay in touch with friends, relatives and other acquaintances wherever they are in the world, as long as there is access to the Internet. It can also unite people with common interests and/or beliefs through groups and other pages.” Adapted from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Facebook on 3/29/2012

The main difference between these two social networking websites is that LinkedIn is much more oriented to the professional type of networking and Facebook is more oriented towards all networking, persona, professional, friends, etc.  If you are on either of these sites, be sure to look up the OCRA sites below and join in the discussions!
